Our quest to find a great pizza in Charleston is over! Very good dough and delicious toppings, friendly service.
We ordered the Korean fried chicken (crispy but not dried and well seasoned chicken), Marguerita with Pepperoni and Wrath of Kahan (tasty but a little too sweet for me).
Terrible experience. There are several previous poor reviews that talk about the unfriendly and rude waitstaff, and I echo that. Service was awful. But more at issue was that after we were seated we were informed that they had run out of dough. No pizza, empinadas or other foods that required dough. It was 9pm (we had confirmed reservations at 9, not just a walk up party) so there was no time to go anywhere else. We had the pasta dish, which was OK. I guess I do not understand how a pizza place runs out of dough. Either they don't make their own and do not know how to order properly, or if they make their own dough they are just plain lazy. If they actually have dough when you go your experience may be much different, but I would not expect friendly, attentive service in any case. .
So delicious! This is not your usual pizza joint, they make the most unusual combinations of flavors that no one else dares to do and you will be happy you tried it. If you really want, you can "make your own" but trust them, at least once.
Their Korean fried chicken will make you forget it's an Italian restaurant and the Caesar even has nuts and sunflower seeds to make it special.
They also have one of, if not the best and most creative bartenders in all of Charleston, try one of his specialty cocktails, but he'll also be more than happy to fix you your favorite classic as well.
The menu is ever changing, so it's always a new experience!
We ordered five pizzas. While the taste of the pizza was good, the crust of them was burnt. All five of them had their crust charred all around. In retrospective, I should have sent them back, however I noticed that everyone's pizza was like that. Maybe it is a local thing, but I do not believe you have to scrap burned parts with a knife, or leave the crust on the plate. Service was good overall.
Rustic Italian style pizza. It wasn’t bad, but I was a little disappointed. The crust was a little more charred than I like, and was kind of tough and chewy. Overall the pizza was just kind of mediocre, but not awful by any means. The pepperoni and onion on Margherita combo didn’t really work, but that was on me for ordering it. I saw other pictures of pepperoni and cheese pies that looked better than the one I got, so I’m not sure what I needed to order to get those.
One of the best neighborhood wine and pizza restaurants in Charleston with some surprisingly good desserts!
Absolutely horific. I took a date here tonight and as usual, great food but while my date and I were mid dinner, mid conversation, enjoying drinks - our server asked if we could get up and move to a different table for another party coming in.. And he wouldn't take an initial "no" for an answer - kept asking. We were at a table for two people. Then proceeded to be rude and not even thank us or anything for coming in. Black hooded sweatshirt. What restaurant asks guests to move tables in the middle of dinner? Unreal. We even had reservations tonight.
We came here for the sourdough pizza, which I will say gets 4.5 stars. The customer service on the other hand gets 1. We ordered our pizza to go, and the bartender who took our order was less than friendly. We got our order in a timely manner, drove to our hotel just to find they didn't include napkins or plastic wear (we also got salad). But the biggest let down was our pizza was missing the pepperoni I ordered. The lady on the phone responded with "Well you didn't pay for it, so maybe you didn't ask for it. But...I mean?" Not exactly top knotch customer service. She didnt even consider that maybe the lady taking my order missed it? I would hope they would at least attempt to make it right by remaking it or something! But she couldn't be bothered, which is unfortunate. Customer service matters!
